In this new era of technology, sometimes teachers have a hard time engaging kids to read. We just need to find the right book to engage them. We all eventually find it, and then it´s like magic...

I´m a funny person and I love silly things, I also know that kids like that too. So, what if we create a silly story together in our classroom?
We can find a lot of online story generators, but today I will show you one that is appropiate for young kids, Dr. Howey.
Dr. Howey gives us the option to create a personalised story that is fun and silly. We just need to fill in some information and the generator will do the hard work for us...

With this tool our kids can create a silly story, and we can read then together during ¨story time¨. Once the story is created, you can share it by clicking on the link at the end of the story. This way all student will have access on their devices (tablet, computer, chromebook, etc.) to the story and also we can share them with the parents.
In our activity, the students can have fun and read aloud by taking turns in class. We can establish a day of the week to read one ¨silly¨ story and rotate the protagonists.
Here you can see an example:

Are you ready to create your own story?
Sonsoles your blog is wonderful! You have done an amazing job in all your posts.
We have to allow our students to find their own books, the right ones as you said.
I didn't know the site that you mentioned, so I will add it to my list. As I said, you blog looks gorgeous, activities are well explaining, and you have included different ICT tools to engage kids and teachers. Happy to find another blog where I can learn about an amazing teacher even we are far away! Hugs from Málaga.
